So long, and thanks for all the fish

I’ve been a little quiet (aka stressed about things outside the realm of this blog) – but as most of you will know I am leaving this cold and pleasant land behind for a while . . . Central America, baby!

There is a new blog to mark the occasion, and it’s here:

Check it out, spread the word . . . and if you know where in Guatemala the really good weaving classes are at, let me know.

I’ll get back to posting here when I come back, which is currently supposed to be the end of March, but who knows . . .

Oh my.

So, in the last few hours I’ve found out that

1) I didn’t get the job at Amnesty International, which means that I’ll be off travelling again at the beginning of November. I’m a little bitter that they didn’t want me, obviously, especially since the interview went really well, but I’m also very much looking forward to a winter in a more tropical climate! I’m currently aiming to be at Paul’s in California by Election Day – which should be interesting . . .

2) Ed is bringing the van round to pick up all/most of my stuff (depending on how much packing I get done . . .) this Sunday evening rather than next Saturday morning. There are good reasons for this, but it gives me slightly over 36 hours to pack up all my possessions, minus time to sleep, go to iKnit Day and write blog entries about how much I dislike packing when it’s done under pressure. At other times I like it 😉 It feels very odd to be packing my trusty backpack again . . .
